The Lett, a home in Kayu Ara designed by Surface R, captures attention immediately while evoking a a sense of calmness and elegance. Spanning 2800 sqft, the interior design concept breathes new life into an outdated property by embracing a contemporary Scandinavian aesthetic.
“The project’s name is inspired by the concept of letting go of the old and embracing the new, which is reflected in the design’s fresh and clean aesthetic,” says the designer. “The Lett features a minimalist approach with neutral colours, natural materials, and functional design elements that blend seamlessly with the house’s original architecture. The result is a warm and inviting space that is both practical and stylish.”
In line with the Scandinavian design philosophy, The Lett incorporates natural materials and neutral hues to create a harmonious blend between the interior and the surrounding environment. The use of natural materials also enhances the overall sustainability of the project, as it promotes an eco-friendly approach to design.
Shades of white, soft greys, and earthy tones contribute to the overall feeling of tranquillity and simplicity. The neutral backdrop serves as a canvas for personal expression and allows the owners to add their unique touches through furnishings and decor.
