Decorex London 2024, held from 12 to 15 October at Olympia London, has once again solidified its place as the premier event for luxury interiors, providing a captivating showcase of design innovation, sustainability, and craftsmanship. This year’s event focused on a harmonious blend of natural beauty and cutting-edge design, with sustainability and artisanal excellence taking centre stage. As always, Decorex delivered an inspiring experience for industry professionals and design enthusiasts alike.
Sustainability was the defining theme of Decorex 2024, as exhibitors embraced eco-friendly materials and design practices that respect the environment. From furniture crafted from reclaimed wood to décor fashioned from upcycled materials, the event highlighted the balance between aesthetics and ethical responsibility. Talks such as Sustainability Without Compromise and Measuring Up: Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions offered valuable insights into the future of sustainable design. As one speaker noted, “Sustainability is no longer an option; it’s a responsibility we all share as designers.” In addition to these enlightening discussions, hands-on workshops like Sharing Your Story: Communicating Your Impact and Transforming Textiles: Reducing the Impact of Fabrics provided practical advice on how designers can further their sustainability efforts.
Decorex 2024 also celebrated the timeless appeal of artisanal craftsmanship. Exhibitors showcased intricate woodwork, hand-blown glass, and expertly sculpted stone, all reflecting a deep appreciation for the skill and dedication behind handmade designs. This focus on bespoke craftsmanship resonated throughout the event, as each piece told a story of creativity and artistry. Lighting designs were also a key focus this year.
While natural materials and hand-crafted pieces dominated the exhibition floor, Decorex also explored the intersection of technology and design. Smart textiles, interactive lighting, and innovative materials offered glimpses into how technology is being used to elevate both form and function in contemporary interiors. The standout VIP Lounge: Synesthetic Studio by YesColours provided a truly immersive, multi-sensory experience, redefining the way we perceive colour through sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell.
