Complete Solutions for the New Kitchen Centrepiece
“From our many years of experience and our expertise in kitchen mixers we know what it takes to make the sink area a highly functional kitchen centrepiece,” says Jan Heisterhagen, Vice President Product Management, Hansgrohe SE. “That’s why as of now, hansgrohe will be offering high-quality, built-in sink units that feature an impressive combination of design and function. In developing them, we were guided by the question of how people use water in the kitchen.”
The combinations, comprising a sink, mixer, intuitive controls and sophisticated technical components, were developed in cooperation with the renowned Phoenix Design studio based in Stuttgart.
Innovative control concept
At the sink, the hub of the kitchen, every move should be as easy as possible. hansgrohe built-in sink combinations offer a choice of two innovative control concepts, making daily kitchen chores easier. The water control unit has been separated from the tap and placed at the front right-hand side of the sink rim. This offers all users, regardless of age, height, and even physical disability, added convenience.
The model fitted with the new hansgrohe Metris Select two-hole kitchen mixer has a central control unit on the front right-hand side of the rim of the sink. This ergonomically shaped lever handle can be switched or turned to select precise temperature and water volume. These settings remain constant throughout the day. Water flow from the mixer can be turned on or off by simply pressing the Select button strategically positioned on the high spout. This allows users to operate the mixer from the front and ensures an ergonomic workflow.
The second model integrates Select technology directly into the sink itself. A large elegant button on the right sink rim turns water flow from the multi-jet kitchen mixer on and off. The clever button also opens and closes the drain so that no other control is required in or around the sink, or detracts from its visual appeal. Both models allow you to control the flow of water using the back of your hand or elbow; for instance, when you are holding a pot with both hands or your hands are dirty. No electricity or extra devices are required in the base cabinet; the technology behind the Select button is purely mechanical.
The hansgrohe sBox: A smart component
The new hansgrohe sBox for both sink combinations keeps the base cabinet tidy and ensures reliable functioning. It stores the hose of the pull-out spray in a flat box specifically designed to fit standard base cabinets. This protects the hose from being bumped into by drawers and waste bins, and ensures comfortable, smooth and quiet operation. In addition, the sBox offers greater freedom of movement: the length of the new hose integrated into the hansgrohe sBox increases the operating range around the sink by up to 26 centimetres compared to pull-out models without an sBox. This means, for example, that you can conveniently fill pots without placing them in the sink. Moreover, the hansgrohe sBox has multifunctional mounting brackets for flexibility when installing in base cabinets.
