Minimal Form, Maximum Thought: MT Chair by Pecadora Redefines Wooden Simplicity

by creativehomex

Spanish design studio Pecadora introduces MT Chair, a strikingly minimal piece that rethinks furniture construction through restraint, material honesty, and structural intelligence. Crafted entirely from just two pieces of bent plywood, the chair eliminates all metal fittings, relying instead on the inherent strength and flexibility of wood to achieve stability and elegance.

The design embraces a radical simplicity. Its sculptural form appears almost weightless, with the seat seemingly floating above the ground. The open void beneath not only enhances visual lightness but also adds functionality, allowing space for storing books, shoes, or everyday items. By removing unnecessary components, the chair celebrates the natural performance of wood as both structure and surface.

Made exclusively from PEFC-certified timber, the MT Chair reflects Pecadora’s commitment to sustainability. Finished with natural, eco-friendly varnishes, the chair is fully recyclable and designed for longevity. The project demonstrates how minimal material use can result in maximum impact—both aesthetically and environmentally.

Founded by designers Rafa and David, Pecadora approaches furniture as a dialogue between form, function and ethics. With the MT Chair, the studio presents a refined expression of contemporary craftsmanship, where design is reduced to its purest essence—quiet, honest and enduring.
