Company: HOLD DESIGN
Project: A Blend of Remembrance
Location: New Taipei City, Taiwan
Design Team: Chang Lun Shen (Design Director)
A distinct concept highlights this unique home design. The designer preserved the original ceilings and walls while reconfiguring the home’s flow. Rotating the staircase 90 degrees enhanced openness, while an open floor plan transformed the once narrow layout. The homeowner’s travel souvenirs add artistic character, creating a visually engaging and personalised space.
Removing solid walls improved natural light and ventilation, with cabinetry arrangements subtly defining different zones. The homeowner noted a significant improvement in brightness and airflow, making the space feel more inviting.
Prioritising health and sustainability, the renovation features eco-friendly, non-formaldehyde panels. Natural wood and greenery contribute to a bright, airy environment, blending aesthetics with functionality to create a serene and healthy home.
