Electrolux Group’s New Sustainable Packaging Wins Red Dot: Best of the Best Design Award
Electrolux Group’s latest packaging design has won the ‘Red Dot: Best of the Best’ award for its design quality and creative achievement. “The challenge for the design team was to create a stand-out packaging design that evokes emotion through a brown cardboard box,” says Ella Rudebeck, Design Lead Packaging, Product Line Wellbeing and SDA Design. The result is a new design concept which uses illustrations on boxes to emphasize the Electrolux brand’s promise to Better Living and a shift from a product-centric to a human-focused approach. The illustrations show people of neutral gender and ethnicity in everyday situations. Unbleached FSC certified cardboard without protective varnishes or plastic lamination—which could contaminate recycling —is also used.

Tom Dixon Expands the Best-Selling Slab Collection With a New Lounge Chair & Ottoman
Celebrating the natural beauty of timber – SLAB has generous proportions, solid materiality and is softened with a gently radius edge. The surface is deeply brushed to expose its natural grain. What was missing from the SLAB range was a low lounger to support the family of tables, chairs and stools. The new SLAB Lounge is a more designer graphic outcome made of solid oak, with an oval seat pad upholstered in leather.
