The 54th edition of CIFF Shanghai, the International Furniture Fair in China, recently wrapped up at the National Exhibition and Convention Centre in Shanghai Hongqiao. Themed ‘Design Empowerment – Dual Internal-External Drive’, the fair once again united the entire furniture supply chain under one roof. This year’s event featured several themed areas, such as Design Eden – Contemporary Design Trade Fair, Sofa Pavilion, Smart Sleep Pavilion, and Living & Dining Rooms Furniture Pavilion. It also hosted five distinct fairs: CIFF WMF, CIFF Upholstery Tech, CIFF Offices & Public Spaces Exhibition, CIFF Urban Outdoor Furniture Exhibition, and CIFF Home Textiles & Accessories Lifestyle Exhibition.
With an impressive 1,300 brands on display across 300,000 square metres, CIFF Shanghai attracted 89,433 trade visitors, 10,486 of whom came from around the globe, marking an 18.31% increase in international attendance. This growth reflects a shift in Chinese companies’ strategies, moving from product export to brand export, showcasing their global ambitions.
A standout feature of this edition was the balance achieved—not only in attendance and scale but also in the originality of the designs, the high-quality stands, and the innovative solutions offered by participating brands for both home and office, public spaces, and outdoor living.
Several brands took centre stage at this year’s fair:
- CAMERICH made waves with its ‘Transit Garden’, a sustainable, zero-waste strategy that brought both products and packaging into the spotlight, focusing on human interaction.
- HC28 Cosmo redefined customisation with modular designs that reduce waste while enhancing aesthetic appeal.
- CHIC CASA, in collaboration with Rison Home and featuring imported appliances from V-ZUG, crafted a chic style rich in artistic details such as mosaics and murals.
- COOMO wowed visitors with a collection of international trendy products, offering a seamless blend of lifestyle, comfort, and beauty.
- DAaZ introduced minimalist designs with unconventional proportions, pushing the boundaries of understated elegance.
- Higold presented a new collection with simple, 1960s-inspired lines, celebrating timeless style.
- MARATTI unveiled Earth Forest Space, a forward-thinking concept designed for agile organisations and innovative communities.
Beyond the business opportunities, CIFF Shanghai continues to be a hub for trends, culture, and design. This year’s event featured 15 exhibitions spanning a diverse range of topics, including design, tea culture, pop culture, materials, artificial intelligence, lifestyle, and sleep. These exhibitions were curated by leading figures in the industry in collaboration with top brands and designers, further solidifying CIFF as a cultural and design hotspot.
