Cosentino Partners with Artist Red Hong Yi to Introduce EARTHIC® by Silestone XM®
Cosentino introduces the EARTHIC® by Silestone®XM collection, a revolutionary series developed in collaboration with Formafantasma studio. This innovative collection transforms recycled and sustainable materials into surfaces designed for ecological architecture. To showcase how one can creatively incorporate this collection into eco-conscious interior design and art in Malaysia, Cosentino has partnered with local artist Red Hong Yi. As part of the collaboration with EARTHIC® by Silestone®XM, Red Hong Yi has designed a curated designer shelf named as ‘Totem Shelf’ that showcases the creative use of recyclable and locally sourced materials. Crafted using the RAW G from the EARTHIC® by Silestone®XM collection, the Totem Shelf reflects the innovative use of materials and incorporates recycled offcuts from Cosentino’s past collections, along with materials such as wooden planks from a demolished house in Penang and unused metal and enamel bowls typically found in ‘kopitiams’ sourced from her studio. This versatile Totem Shelf is designed to allow homeowners to display books, keepsakes, or accessories in a unique and creative way, showcasing their cherished items.

AXOR Citterio Collection Featured in Three New Bulgari Hotels
Over the past three years, Bulgari has expanded its hotel collection to include three new metropolises: Tokyo, Rome, and Paris. Designed by ACPV ARCHITECTS Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel, each hotel seamlessly blends Italian glamour with local traditions. A consistent feature in these luxurious hotels is Antonio Citterio’s AXOR Citterio collection, which has graced premier design projects since 2000. In Tokyo, the Bulgari Hotel offers breathtaking views from its location atop a skyscraper, merging Japanese and Italian design elements. Meanwhile, Rome’s Bulgari Hotel, situated near the ancient Mausoleum of Augustus, immerses guests in opulence with Murano chandeliers and Italian stonework. The third Bulgari Hotel in Paris location similarly stands out with its serene elegance and traditional ashlar masonry facade, just steps away from the city’s iconic landmarks. In all these hotels, the AXOR Citterio collection, with its timeless design and superior craftsmanship, enhances the bathrooms’ luxurious ambience, reflecting Bulgari’s commitment to creating an unrivaled beacon of Italian elegance across cultures and continents.

Balenciaga’s First Gold Coast Store: Where Raw Architecture Meets Fashion
Balenciaga has opened its first store in Broadbeach Waters, a suburb of Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. The new space, embracing Balenciaga’s Raw Architecture concept, offers the latest in men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, shoes, bags, accessories, eyewear, and jewellery collections. The store’s exterior and interior design challenge traditional luxury by incorporating unfinished and distressed construction elements, reducing the use of virgin materials and aligning with Balenciaga’s commitment to sustainability. A white-lit Balenciaga sign stands out against the polished mall court, contrasting with concrete slabs framing the glass storefront. Inside the 319-square-metre space, aged raw metal fixtures, worn upholstery, and an exposed ceiling grid create an atmosphere reminiscent of a liminal or outdoor area, with patinas and stains reflecting the passage of time.

The event saw over 100 participants, including representatives from LBS Foundation, NextGen, Sunway University, several of their suppliers, and enthusiastic members of the public. This diverse collaboration underscores the widespread commitment to environmental conservation and the urgency of addressing marine pollution. Together, the firm managed to make a significant impact, removing various waste items from the beach. The top ten waste items included cigarette butts, plastic grocery bags, other plastic bags, plastic beverage bottles, plastic straws and stirrers, food wrappers (candy, chips, etc.), plastic utensils, plastic and foam pieces, plastic cups and plates, and other waste such as metal and paper. Metrics Global extends a heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated and supported this initiative, making a positive difference for our environment.
