Established & Sons unveils 360-degree rotating Fez side table by Nao Tamura

by creativehomex

British design brand Established & Sons has released Fez, a side table by Japanese designer Nao Tamura featuring a fully rotating tabletop intended to introduce subtle movement into domestic settings.

The 2026 piece continues Tamura’s design dialogue with the brand, echoing the conical base language of her earlier Tiki lamp. Both projects share a sculptural foundation that acts as a visual anchor, creating a sense of narrative continuity across the collection.

Fez translates the poised balance of a bird resting on a slender branch into geometric form. A pronounced cone-shaped base establishes the centre of gravity, while the slightly off-centre tabletop introduces a controlled visual tension between stability and motion. The softened junction between base and surface creates the illusion of gentle downward pressure, referencing gravity while lending the object a quiet sense of animation.

Functionally, the tabletop rotates 360 degrees, reinforcing Tamura’s ongoing exploration of interactivity in furniture design. Rather than serving solely as a static surface, the table is conceived as what the designer describes as a “micro stage” — an object that invites touch and participation while maintaining practical utility.

Fez is available in two sizes with identical heights. The smaller version features a circular top, while the larger model adopts an oval form. Both are offered in olive green and warm grey finishes. Additional colourways include electric blue for the larger oval edition and amber for the smaller round version.

Constructed from metal and finished with a fine-textured powder coating, the table balances durability with a tactile surface quality. Through its interplay of geometry, colour and movement, Fez is designed to adapt to varied interiors — operating as both functional side table and quietly expressive sculptural element.
