This open layout concept office discards the expected cubicles of conventional bullpens in favour of casual seating in lounge-like arrangements to stimulate creative production.
From the dimly-lit hallway, rectangular metal frames with frosted panes provide a tantalisingly obscured view of the activity on the other side. Latitude Design imparts a fun-loving vibe to this office, where convention clearly took a back seat in the design, as indicated by the uninterrupted expanse dotted with colourful chairs.
While the majority of furnishings are of modern and minimalist leanings – with pale shades of wood used in table surfaces formed out of simple geometry, the addition of high perch bar seating and moulded plastic dining chairs saturated largely in primary and secondary colours imparts an eccentric streak to the workplace.
Contemplative vistas of the exterior are not reserved for long-standing executives in this organisation, but rather provided to every employee occupying the floor by way of two long stretches of windows. The view in the conference half of this office is underscored by bench seating to accommodate meeting cohorts – an apparent demonstration of modern organisations seeking to maintain an attractive degree of inclusivity for employees during executive proceedings.
The irregularly shaped conference table is equipped with rollers on its legs, in an apparent effort to maintain versatility in the arrangement of furnishings, and to further project inclusivity, it is accompanied by the same moulded-plastic seats in basic colours as seen in the operative half of the office space. The wide hangar-like space is divided into two by way of a set of folding screens, which provide a measure of privacy for closed-door meetings when required. With the screens drawn shut, the operations side of the office is fully enveloped in uniform lengths of frosted panes in rectangular frames.
The all-black ceiling is lined with straight lengths of cool white lighting; the seriousness of it offset by the intriguing decorative formation of blue LED lighting marking out the main discussion zone of this office. In adhering to the casual theme, the discussion zone is furnished with yellow, orange, and red bean bag chairs, interspersed among blocks of reclaimed wood intended to act as tables during brainstorming sessions.
