Capsule Dishwashers for Compact Living : LISSOME Raises Pre-A Funding to Rethink Small-Home Kitchen Tech

by creativehomex

Chinese smart kitchen appliance brand LISSOME has secured over RMB 10 million (Pre-A round) in new funding, signaling growing investor confidence in compact, intelligent kitchen solutions designed for modern urban living.

The round was led by Professor Gao Bingqiang and GaoFeng Patience Capital, with Chasing Light Capital acting as exclusive financial advisor. The funding will be used to accelerate product R&D, expand the team, strengthen supply chain capabilities, and scale distribution channels. LISSOME has previously raised multiple rounds of early-stage investment from ClearVue Capital, XbotPark Ningbo Base, and Challenger Capital.

Founded at XbotPark, a well-known robotics and hardware innovation hub, LISSOME operates at the intersection of smart kitchen appliances and food technology. Its engineering expertise spans robotics, intelligent sensing, and motion control, with more than 30 patents filed to date.

The brand’s latest product, the R1 capsule dishwasher, is positioned as a response to changing household structures and usage patterns. As smaller households and rental living become more common, traditional built-in dishwashers are increasingly seen as impractical. Market data suggests that freestanding dishwashers are projected to grow at a CAGR of 10.5 percent between 2025 and 2032, driven largely by flexibility and ease of installation. Meanwhile, the global smart dishwasher market is expected to expand from USD 5.13 billion in 2024 to USD 11.08 billion by 2032, according to Data Bridge.

Launched in June 2025, the R1 measures just 28 centimetres wide and requires no permanent installation or plumbing modifications. Despite its compact footprint, it delivers 100,000 Pa water pressure, a four-arm storm spray system, and a 15-minute rapid wash cycle. The product has received strong market response and was named one of the “Seven Coolest Products” at CES 2025 in the US.

Much of the innovation lies beneath the surface. According to founder and CEO Steve, the team was unable to source a pump that met the performance requirements at such a small scale, leading LISSOME to develop its own high-pressure brushless integrated water pump from scratch. The system draws on design principles from AI robotics and sensor engineering, including a newly developed motor-driven vertical spray arm that enables 360-degree cleaning coverage.

Using an in-house FOC precision motion control algorithm, the R1 can dynamically switch between targeted, variable-speed, and cross-spray modes to address different types of residue. Additional features include automatic door-opening flash drying, intelligent detergent backflow dosing, and triple sterilisation combining high-temperature washing, UVC ultraviolet light, and plasma deodorisation. The machine also supports dishwashing, fruit and vegetable cleaning, sterilisation, and baby bottle washing in a single unit.

LISSOME’s core team brings extensive experience from robotics and consumer electronics, with members previously working at companies including DJI, Midea, and Fotile. Looking ahead, the company plans to continue exploring how AI and robotics technologies can be embedded into everyday kitchen scenarios, positioning intelligent appliances as active participants in daily life rather than passive tools.
