Italian design brand VISN has unveiled Ripple, a sculptural cabinet that translates the emotional movement of Vincent van Gogh’s The Starry Night into a tactile, architectural object. More than furniture, the piece functions as a collectible artwork—one that merges craftsmanship, material intelligence, and poetic expression.

Carved from solid North American black walnut, the cabinet’s surface becomes a canvas of flowing reliefs that echo the swirling motion of Van Gogh’s sky. Each carved line captures a sense of movement and depth, turning wood into a living surface shaped by light and shadow. The result is a piece that feels both grounded and ethereal—an object meant to be experienced as much as used.

VISN’s approach goes beyond visual impact. The cabinet structure employs marine-grade engineered wood, commonly used in shipbuilding, to ensure long-term stability and resistance to humidity. Paired with a brushed bronze base and refined detailing, the piece balances sculptural expression with functional durability.

Crafted through a combination of precision machining and hand-finishing, the cabinet reflects VISN’s philosophy of “slow craftsmanship.” Every groove, surface, and joint is carefully considered, allowing material integrity and artisanal skill to define the final form.

As part of VISN’s wider exploration into art-driven furniture, Ripple reimagines storage as an emotional object—one that blurs the line between fine art and everyday living. It stands as a reminder that furniture can do more than serve a function; it can carry memory, movement, and meaning.
