There’s beauty in imperfection – that’s the heart of the wabi-sabi design philosophy. This office, designed by Goflex Design & Reno, captures this graceful concept seamlessly with a design theme based on the wabi-sabi concept. The result is a workspace characterised by simplicity, asymmetry, neutral colour palettes, earthy tones, and organic elements.
According to the designers, a wabi-sabi design style creates a luxurious but serene and peaceful atmosphere. Thanks to its simplicity, earthiness, and authenticity, this theme is perfect for a lifestyle office to create a calm and composed atmosphere.
To infuse the spaces with a unique touch, Oriental elements like artistic wall art and wall covering were also incorporated into the decorating palette, resulting in a lively Asian-inspired interior style.
“Today’s fast-paced lifestyle keeps people on the move. Many of us also tend to mindlessly chase perfection. In this project, we aim to achieve the opposite. Hence, we drew inspiration from the wabi-sabi lifestyle that finds beauty in imperfection and simplicity,” remarks the design team.
In this lifestyle office, the work areas serve as a multipurpose space where different sections of the office were designed to work harmoniously together. For instance, multifunctional seats and high tables can be used as tea centres or workspaces simultaneously. In addition, the seating areas also double as waiting lounges for visitors. To ensure efficiency, ambient and accent lighting allow users to carry out their tasks in a well-lit environment.
