Simple elements make all the difference in this home, ingeniously put together to create a tranquil environment.
When The Roof Studio was brought in to design this 1,500 sqft home, they infused the spaces with a cosy contemporary ambience by starting with a cool-toned palette. Here, a combination of blues, whites and monochromes highlight the living space. The TV wall is kept simple with a complementary dark brown wood surface while a pair of armchairs creates a lightweight focal point at the corner. An attractive rug with a leaf-shaped glass coffee table over it adds on a charming finishing touch. Houseplants also help to freshen up the space, contributing to the stylish lived-in atmosphere in this home.
Adjacent to the living is the dry kitchen and dining area, both given a sleek treatment with a variety of modern materials. A long slim countertop divides the kitchen from the living spaces, extending towards the neighbouring wall to create space for the owners to place their favourite pictures. This approach benefits the dining area, complementing the elegant dining set and globe pendant lamps. Opening out to the spectacular city views outside, the dining area is a cosy space for both formal and informal meals.
While the dry kitchen is furnished with white cabinets and open shelving, the wet kitchen takes on a more conservative look. White cabinets are used here, but for easy maintenance, the designer affixed doors to the cabinets instead of leaving them open. Appliances and the sink are placed neatly within a comfortable work triangle.
In the master bedroom, the upholstered headboard lends a plush look to the bed area. Next to it, the walk-in wardrobe comprises a series of built-in storage spaces and a vanity top highlighted by decorative bulbs for a brighter environment. The room is further enhanced with lush bedding and heavy drapes for ultimate comfort.
For one of the rooms, the space is kept spacious and clutter-free with only a custom-made desk tucked to the wall and a leather seat in the centre of the room. This space serves as a place for the owner to chill out, play music and get work done on the computer. Wood flooring affords a warm look while artwork on the wall imbues the room with a touch of personality.
