The Panoramic House designed by Brazilian architecture firm, Schuchovski Architecture, is a remarkable project set amidst the lush Atlantic Forest and overlooking the sea. This architectural masterpiece, which took three and a half years from conception to completion, is located in a condominium on Brava Beach in Itajaí, Santa Catarina, in southern Brazil.
The terrain of this project inspired a design language that enhances family relationships, fosters a connection with nature, and takes advantage of the panoramic ocean views. A standout feature is the dramatic triangular cantilevers: the pool is strategically positioned to occupy the terrain’s tip, and the volume houses the main suite of the residence.
The design team divided the program into three main areas: Social, Intimate, and Service. These independent sectors are connected through a mezzanine, which serves as the main stage for a large spiral staircase sculpture in the house’s central core. The spacious living areas, seamlessly integrated with each other and the surroundings, offer a sense of warmth and well-being, with enchanting and varied views of the beach, preserved forest, and cityscape.

To infuse the project with a Brazilian touch, the choice of materials was crucial. Natural elements, textures, and colours were selected to enhance the project’s main features: integration with nature, utilisation of scenic views, and technological innovation. In this project, the Brazilian identity, defined by the appreciation of origins and diversity, manifests in architecture as a blend of the owners’ lifestyles and ways of thinking.
