DARK CHOCOLATE, rich caramel, restful taupe, luminous white – such are the colours found in this contemporary yet soothing home. Brown, being an earthy, natural colour calls for warmth and friendliness in a space. It’s inviting and exudes a peaceful ambience too. Unlike white, which is a crisp, clean and sort of a cool colour, when combined with chocolate browns, the result one gets is a modern, light and stylish yet very appealing room.

A lavish area rug and an L-shaped seater make an enticing sight as one enters the living area. The TV console bench is kept modern in a dark, gleaming finish while floors and walls are awashed in a warm shade of white for a delightful contrast. Above, the ceiling features a simple yet very sleek design – two long strips bearing accent lighting which also defines the living area before they end at a beam. A short flight of steps leads one to the open dining area where a glass-top table is flanked by six black upholstered chairs and an interesting artwork of a camel and her offspring adds life and lends an artistic air to the space. In the master bedroom, white porcelain tiles are replaced by rich timber laminates for the flooring for a more nature-inspired feel. The same luxurious colour palette is also repeated here where cotton white bed coverings are peppered by a charming assortment of pillows and the windows are dressed in swaths of shimmering chocolate satin. Simply comforting!
