Modern European details in white merge with gilded accents and tastes of the countryside to luxurious effect in this largely monochromatic interior.
Decorated by SQFT Space Design Management, this home features luxurious upholstery and gleaming fixtures, set against a pale background of wall-to-wall wainscoting. Setting the backdrop for the interior, the foyer wall presents classical wall treatments that stretch from the doorway to the kitchen cabinets at the far end of the open layout. A signal for the prevailing theme is presented on a wall at the entrance, with white plaster trim adorning a background painted in a warm shade of grey for emphasis.

The seating lounge is aligned around the central feature of a television wall adorned with classical trim and flanked by tall windows lightly obscured with white sheer curtains. The entertainment console is disguised to resemble a fireplace – the mantle and raised hearth composed of Carrara marble and framed in dark reflective panels to affirm the monochromatic palette. The wispy grey-on-white streaks of the marbled fireplace are reflected in a generous carpet marking the extents of the seating lounge, its floral motif providing the space with a layer of feminine charm.
Accompanying the contemporary grey fabric sofa are additional seating options of disparate influences converging to imbue the seating lounge with the symbolism of mid-century luxury. A reinterpretation of Castello Lagravinese’s Hyatt Bench puts distinctive capitonné upholstery in the foreground to form an implicit border against the entryway, while a reimagining of Kelly Wearstler’s Souffle Chair displays an intriguing pleated texture mounted on tapered and gilded legs on the opposite side.
The palette of the seating lounge is extended into the conjoined kitchen and dining space to unify the décor of the open layout, with the wispy grey veins of Carrara marble presented in the thin dining surface, gilded metals appearing in the frames of the accompanying chairs, while a pair of identical Broadway chandeliers present brass stems and frosted glass globes overhead. Against the predominately grey background, the dining chairs present blue velvet upholstery in the foreground to reflect the scenic view through the sliding patio doors.
A stately kitchen is formed out of ornately decorated cabinet doors and sleek fixtures to bridge the divide between the classical and contemporary influences expressed in this home. Carrara marble reappears to decorate the working surfaces of the kitchen island and the L-shaped countertop, while the shades of white and grey diverge onto the cabinetry, the black window blinds, and onto the wooden decorative faces of the island counter.
The monochromatic palette fades in a secluded reading corner adjacent to the dining area, giving way to a shade of teal seemingly transported from a country cottage, while returning as the predominant palette in the private spaces of the upper levels.
