The spending on home appliances and consumer electronics is expected to increase with each passing year as new generations of Malaysians move towards purchasing their first homes.
Younger Malaysians – like most millenials, make their product choices not based solely on specifications, they would rather actively seek out brands that are more humanised, looking to products that provide a better quality of life and represent a better fit with their individual values.
Haier – a prospective global leader in major appliances, has further accelerated the launch of its innovative products in Malaysia this year, to provide the best possible solutions and to elevate lifestyles.
“We will launch more than 30 new products in Malaysia this year, including innovative products with world-leading technology such as the Haier 4-Door Series Inverter Refrigerator (with the Triple Cooling System and separate Dry & Humid Zones), the Haier Direct Drive (DD) Inverter Self-Cleaning washing machine, the Smart Clean Inverter air conditioner, the anti-dry Smart Kitchen appliances, and many more,” said Shi Zhi Yuan, the managing director of Haier Malaysia, at a media conference on 3rd May.
The Haier 4-Door Series Inverter Refrigerator is equipped with a proprietary Triple Cooling System and separate Dry & Humid Zones – using Haier’s unique dry-wet storage preservation technology, it solves the four major food preservation problems: dampness, drying, over-freezing, and odours.
The first cooling system governs the refrigerator compartment – consisting of both dry and humid storage spaces divided into separated zones. Each zone is monitored by Haier’s own HCS Vegetal Bio-Membrane, a proprietary technology that constantly measures humidity levels – regulating those levels with micro air ducts and an evaporator that converts condensation into frost, to maintain a minimum level of 95 percent humidity in the humid zone and a maximum of 45 percent in the dry zone. This combination of positive and negative feedback loops reduces spoilage over time by maintaining optimal conditions for specific food types.
The second cooling system occupies the 15-kilogram capacity freezer compartment, providing the characteristics of ample space and rapid freezing to preserve foods with minimal nutrient loss. The third system is the Haier Switch Zone – which adopts variable temperature control technology to enable continuous temperature adjustments from as high as 5 degrees Celsius to as low as -20 degrees below freezing. The Switch Zone can be used as a refrigerator or a freezer compartment, allowing for flexibility in storing different ingredients and adjusting temperatures for optimal preservation.
These patented products – the Haier 4-Door Series inverter Refrigerator, Haier Direct Drive (DD) Inverter Self-Cleaning washing machine, Smart Clean inverter air conditioner, anti-dry Smart Kitchen appliances, and many more – are newly-launched worldwide by the Haier Group. Thanks to its leading technologies, Haier has wholly solved users’ long-standing problems and their worries on health, convenience, and safety aspects – which is why these innovative products were launched to great demand in every region where Haier is present.
“I believe that these haier innovations will be favourable to the consumers because our products not only provide very good solutions for their lifestyles, but also perfectly match the younger generation’s pursuit of style, humanity, and values,” Shi Zhi Yuan asserted.

In 2017, Haier was ranked the number one global brand of major home appliances for the ninth consecutive year – achieving a total sales volume of 241.9 billion Yuan (or approximately 149.7 billion Ringgit).
Currently, Haier has had a presence in Malaysia for 16 years, during which time the brand imported and distributed its products via more than 300 retail outlets and major chain stores in the country, offering a full range of home appliances including refrigerators, washing machines, freezers, in addition to domestic and commercial air conditioners, LED televisions, and small appliances, among others.
As part of the company’s expansion, it unveiled the “Haier World of Home Appliances” on 3rd May – a gateway into the world of Haier and its new product line-ups. The unveiling is a continuation for Haier’s Malaysian division to showcase the latest technologies and innovative products to customers following the successful opening of the “Haier Experience Centre” at Setia Walk, Puchong earlier this year.
While Haier continues to launch innovative products, Shi Zhi Yuan enthused that the company will further strengthen its cooperation with its distributors, especially their loyal dealers. Haier plans to build more Haier brand shops and shops-in-shops in order to provide the best possible reach to customers. On that note, Haier Careline began 24-hour operations (7 days a week, 365 days a year) to better serve its customers.
