Light & Refined: Latitude Design

by chxadmin

An ordered and dainty décor is assembled from lightweight furnishings and pale architectural finishes to reflect the work of this beauty saloon.

Located beneath the planted podium deck of the Tropicana Avenue serviced residences, and decorated by Latitude Design, the storefront of the Vow skincare clinic presents a distinctly feminine décor that is symbolically saturated in white. Stepping closer to the generous windows of the entrance reveals a floor of pale wood akin to Nordic pine and walls adorned with classically-inspired wainscoting from crown to baseboard.

The low-profile furnishings have been seemingly selected to fit neatly beneath the chair rail, with the largest pieces – the grey fabric sofa and matching loveseat, tufted in a manner similar to traditional capitonné upholstery to echo the subtle classical influences in the reception area. The smaller pieces of furniture in the reception are of distinctly Scandinavian design to match the prevailing colour palette, with a few distributed examples of the iconic coffee tables and accent tables made famous by the Eames design duo. Accompanying the tables are a few intriguingly artful chairs that incorporate a cellular design in the Eames-inspired form-pressed seats.

Beyond the reception area, a false wall is built up to host glass shelves within lit niches and to shelter a secondary receiving area for the inevitable overlap of appointments. The more private lounge is furnished with simplistic sectional seats upholstered in blue-grey fabric and pockets of greenery on white bases to evoke serene imagery of the countryside for the patrons in waiting.

Minimalist Icons: The far-reaching influences of the Eames design duo can be observed in the accent tables and form-pressed seats distributed throughout the front of the establishment.

A diminutive vanity counter and a bevelled mirror framed in white appoint the beginning of the narrow access that leads into the operative side of the clinic.

The passageway is apparently designed to take after similar ingresses into the dressing rooms of clothing boutiques, with the doorways of the private treatment rooms obscured behind thick grey drapery.

The aesthetics of the treatment rooms are reassuringly similar to the reception area: a pale wood floor and white walls enveloping white furnishings, and pink or blue-grey equipment to match the elements seen at the front of the establishment.
