Jenchieh Hung, a distinguished architect and professor, has earned an exceptional reputation in the field of architecture for his innovative designs and significant academic contributions. With a career spanning decades, he has shaped both the built environment and the education of future generations of architects. Recently, his expertise and influence were recognized on the international stage through his invitation as a keynote speaker at the China International Furniture Fair 2026 (CIFF) – CIFF 2026 International Forum, curated by Iko iN, Founder of iN Design Lab Malaysia.
As principal architect of the Thai firm Jenchieh Hung + Kulthida Songkittipakdee / HAS design and research, well known as HAS design and research, he has established a renowned practice rooted in sustainability, innovation, and cultural relevance. He is an architect member of The Association of Siamese Architects under Royal Patronage (ASA). In 2023, he was appointed exhibition chairman and principal curator, organizing major international exhibitions including the Infinity Ground Architecture Exhibition at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC), one of Thailand’s leading cultural institutions, and the Collective Language: Asian Contemporary Architecture Exhibition at the IMPACT Arena Exhibition and Convention Center, which marked the first large-scale exhibition dedicated to contemporary Asian architects in collaboration with the Architects Regional Council Asia (ARCASIA). Alongside his professional achievements, Jenchieh Hung has served as a juror for the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) – RIBA International Awards: Asia Pacific Awards. He was also appointed guest editor of the Journal of the Architects Regional Council Asia (ARCASIA Journal), contributing critical perspectives that highlight the emergence of contemporary Thai architecture on the global stage.

Professor Jenchieh Hung is widely regarded as one of the most forward-thinking voices in contemporary architecture across Thailand and Asia. He has received international recognition for a series of acclaimed projects in Thailand and abroad, including the Museum of Modern Aluminum Thailand, Simple Art Museum, High Line Bangkok, Aluminum Grotto and Public Ground, The Glade Bookstore, Forest Villa, and Casa de Zanotta. Notably, Jenchieh Hung and his firm became the first Thai architect and Thai architectural firm to be listed in the Wallpaper* Architects’ Directory from the United Kingdom and the Louis Vuitton City Guide Bangkok from France. The firm has received numerous international awards across the United States, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Russia, China, Thailand, and Singapore. In academia, Jenchieh Hung was appointed as a distinguished professor at the university, and currently serves as a visiting professor at Chulalongkorn University, an adjunct/visiting professor at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, a visiting professor at Tongji University, and an adjunct professor at the World University of Design. His research studio, Hung And Songkittipakdee Laboratory (HAS Lab), investigates pattern formation as a strategy for simulating complex urban spatial systems.
