Smart connectivity, healthy living and LED display technology are leading industry development at this year’s twin lighting fairs in Hong Kong, which bring together some 3,000 exhibitors from more than 20 countries and regions.
The 28th Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Autumn Edition) opened on 27 October at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), where it runs until 30 October. Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the 2026 Hong Kong International Lighting Fair is paired with the 11th Hong Kong International Outdoor and Tech Light Expo, which opened a day earlier at AsiaWorld-Expo and continues until 29 October.
Staged under the theme Beyond Illumination, the two fairs frame their displays around smart connectivity, healthy living, immersive spatial experiences and sustainability.
“As the lighting industry is evolving rapidly, the twin lighting fairs this year are held under the theme ‘Beyond Illumination’, highlighting key industry trends related to smart connectivity, healthy living, immersive spatial experiences and sustainability,” said HKTDC associate executive director Silas Chu.
“By building an international trade and technology exchange platform, the fairs connect global buyers with industry players and foster the sustainable development of the lighting industry.”
A global line-up of exhibitors and alliances
Alongside exhibitors from Hong Kong, the Chinese Mainland and Taiwan, the fairs host brands from Australia, India, Korea and Singapore, as well as from Denmark, Finland, Germany, the Netherlands, Mexico and the UK. Many have worked on landmark projects around the world or hold international awards.
Several major smart lighting and IoT alliances also take part, including the Connectivity Standards Alliance, the DALI Alliance, the SILA-EMN Alliance and the Zhaga Consortium. KNX, the global standard for smart building and home automation, makes its debut at the fair. Together with their member companies, the alliances demonstrate how the smart lighting ecosystem works in practice.

Smart poles and solar power at AsiaWorld-Expo

The Outdoor and Tech Light Expo features multiple product zones displaying a variety of outdoor and professional technical lighting solutions for commercial and industrial applications.
At AsiaWorld-Expo, the Outdoor and Tech Light Expo is organised into three zones: Smart Pole and Solution; Outdoor, Industrial and Technical Lighting; and Landscape and Architectural Lighting. Alongside lighting applications for smart cities, industrial and professional settings, the expo has added photovoltaic and energy storage solutions intended to help cities improve energy efficiency.
Award-winning products under one roof
First-time exhibitor Ledman Hong Kong (Booth: 5B-D02) presents the LEDHUB Smart Conference Solution, which merges large-format display, video conferencing and collaboration functions into a single platform. Winner of a Gold Award at the 2025 TITAN Innovation Awards, it has been adopted by institutions including the University of Hong Kong, the University of Warwick and Fudan University. The company also shows its QS Series IceScreen LED Display, which was deployed at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games.
Hongkong Sunricher Technology (Booth: 1D-C30) exhibits Desktop Wizard, which has won the Red Dot Design Award, the iF Design Award and the German National Design Award. Designed to replace fiddly lighting remotes and wall switches tied to fixed positions, it offers a more flexible and space-efficient way to control the home.
Finnish exhibitor Ledil Oy (Booth: GH-P21) brings its LEDiL STRADA reflector, winner of the German Innovation Award 2025. The reflector offers precise beam control and a G6 glare rating, with a threshold increment (TI) as low as 1%. Even with protective glass fitted, its optical efficiency reaches around 90%.
Zhongshan SUFN Lighting Technology Co Ltd (Booth: 1A-B24) presents REIZ II, which received the iF Design Award 2024 and the Contemporary Good Design Award 2022. A convection cooling structure and concealed shift mechanism improve heat dissipation by approximately 15% and raise light output by around 30%. Dual anti-glare optics rated at UGR≤6 allow the fixture to work as a downlight, an adjustable accent light or a wall washer.
Solar and energy-saving solutions
According to GEP Research, the global photovoltaic lighting market is expected to reach US$18.5 billion in 2026, up 14.2% from US$16.2 billion in 2025.
At the Outdoor and Tech Light Expo, Lansine Intelligent (Zhongshan) Energy Storage Technology Co Ltd (Booth: 8-F28) shows its LX-LC01 energy storage power station and a series of foldable solar panels, designed for off-grid use, outdoor camping, emergency backup power and small-scale residential energy storage.
Auroras InnoTech Guangdong Co Ltd (Booth: 8-D21) presents its Woodpecker Series & Architectural Pathway Light, which pairs a vertical architectural form with solar power and warm natural finishes so that it blends into outdoor landscapes.
