Nature-inspired elements elevate this bright and cheerful property showcase lounge, offering visitors a rejuvenating experience as they learn more about Gamudaland’s properties.
Designed by ZI Atelier Sdn Bhd, the lounge evokes a cosy and calm feeling, reminiscence of being in nature while staying close to urban comforts. The design team explains further: “Our vision was to create a refreshing experience by inserting natural and green elements into the lounge. This approach is in line with the developer’s intention of infusing a natural urban living concept in their products.”
Upon stepping foot into the lounge, a soothing ambience greets visitors. The space, which features two main areas – the property showcase space and a cafe, brings together a lively combination of vast greenery, natural element and raw materials. According to the design team, they incorporated neutral compositions of oak wood veneer, terrazzo flooring, custom-made hollow blocks, cement skim coating, along with an artificial green wall to generate a sense of living amid nature within the interior.
“Once you arrive through the main gallery door, you can’t miss the green wall at the reception’s backdrop,” the design team says. “The wall comprises various types of indoor plants that come with an integrated irrigation system. We also applied green elements to other details such as toilet signs, wall and column treatment, the raised platform, as well as the sitting kiosks.”
Custom-made coloured terrazzo flooring enlivens the café while the natural solid timber floor brings a distinctive look to the gallery area. Simple geometry forms created using metal structures and the custom shapes of hollow blocks were the designers’ attempts to echo the herringbone floor. The lounge also features transparent boundaries from exterior to interior, serving as a vantage point to blend with the external space while creating a strong connection between the gallery and bustling city streets outside.
