Located in Cyberjaya, this unique mansion spans over 20,000 square feet of luxurious living space. Designed by Evlyn Teh, the founder and designer of Gusto Design & Build, the residence seamlessly blends the essence of Italian aesthetics.
The skillful utilization of various materials has resulted in a sophisticated and opulent home, characterized by a deep dark grey color palette that exudes refined elegance.
Stepping through the entrance, one is greeted by a meticulously crafted solid wood door, complemented by a grey and white marble flooring. These elements set the stage for the luxurious ambiance that awaits within.
The application of wall panels, infused with titanium-coated metal, gracefully extends along the walls, exuding a subtle sheen that illuminates each step, creating a magnificent homecoming experience.
The public areas of the residence feature an interplay of grey, gold, and white tones, setting the foundation for an Italian-inspired color scheme. Leather sofas, crystal chandeliers, marble coffee tables, and various stone and metal accents are strategically placed to evoke a sense of refined luxury.
“The titanium-coated metal surface treatment gives a noble and refined appearance from a distance, while the back wall of the sofa is coated with a matte golden finish, adding a touch of subtlety to the overall ambiance of the space.” the designer, explains.
The spaces of the living, dining, and kitchen areas are adorned with exquisite marble flooring, exuding an impression of prestige. By incorporating a spiral staircase made of the same marble material at the junction between the living and dining areas, creating a focal point of luxury within the grand residence. On the right side, a wooden lattice façade is cleverly designed to conceal the elevator location.
“By using natural marble to construct the steps that connect the different floors, combined with glass and titanium steel to shape the handrails, the space exudes an extraordinary sense of sophistication, making it an ideal spot for photo opportunities,” said the designer.
As you enter the dining area, layers of various materials in shades of gray create a captivating sense of depth. Designer Evlyn Teh has incorporated Italian aesthetics, lines, and curved elements into the kitchen island bar, which features a semi-circular shape crafted from solid surface stone.
The countertop material chosen is the exquisite gray-veined Caesarstone, showcasing the meticulous craftsmanship of skilled artisans.
“Creating a seamless and perfectly curved island requires the expertise of experienced craftsmen, and the handle-less cabinet doors are designed to avoid any collisions” said Teh.
The dining table is strategically positioned to face the outdoor scenery.
“Whether it’s morning or evening, having a meal here with the cheerful chirping of birds and the soothing sound of flowing water creates a particularly idyllic living scene for the whole family.”
Pushing open the side door, the kitchen continues the serene and tranquil dark color scheme of the public areas, creating a visually unified space.
“When designing a home, we avoid incorporating too many elements to avoid visual clutter.”
The backsplash is adorned with gray ceramic tiles featuring a faux stone texture, evoking a natural ambiance, while the metallic-painted gray cabinet doors exude a subtle sense of luxury. The designer cleverly integrates two refrigerators side by side to meet the need for storing a large quantity of fresh ingredients.
The laundry room extends the gray color scheme, with light gray cabinets as the base color. The wall-to-wall storage cabinets fulfill the essential storage needs, accommodating laundry supplies, cleaning agents, and more.
The designer thoughtfully incorporates a foldable ironing board, neatly tucked behind the door panel. When in use, it can be unfolded and laid flat, and when not in use, it can be folded and stored, restoring a clean and tidy visual space.
The wall panels are creatively cut by uneven partition lines, seamlessly connecting to the open display cabinets, creating a captivating focal point for the filial piety room that blends functionality and aesthetics.
The design language exudes a sense of understated elegance, and the choice of wooden flooring for the floor highlights the warmth of the space, instantly inducing a feeling of relaxation for both the body and mind, making it easier to enter a deep sleep state.
The game area is a cheerful and inviting space that sparks imagination and creativity. The colorful rainbow palette creates a visually stimulating environment, while the specially designed storage compartments promote tidiness and a sense of responsibility in children. With the added safety measures such as the soft padding, parents can have peace of mind knowing that their little ones can play and explore safely.
“This dedicated space is like a little haven for children, where they can freely explore, play, and grow happily.”
It offers them the opportunity to indulge in their interests and discover new things. Whether it’s drawing on the chalkboard, building with Lego, or conquering the climbing wall, children can embark on exciting adventures within their own little world. It’s a place where their imaginations can soar, their creativity can thrive, and their joy can be boundless.
The children’s room is a multifunctional space that caters to sleeping, studying, and leisure activities. It features a minimalist white bookshelf adorned with bright yellow and misty blue accents, creating a vibrant and playful atmosphere. The wardrobe is designed with a hollowed-out center, housing a cozy seating area in a calming shade of blue.
“Originally, there were plans to connect this wall to another space, but considering the need for privacy, the decision was made to transform it into a circular leisure seating area.”
As you enter the room, the soft furnishings and decor reminiscent of a boutique hotel catch your eye. The bed’s headboard features a gray fabric that seamlessly transitions into faux stone patterned tiles.
On either side, metallic decorative strips are embedded, complemented by translucent lampshades that emit a subtle golden glow, creating an ambiance of luxury and elegance.
Adjacent to the folding door, a small entertainment area awaits. The room’s design utilizes circular arcs to guide the visual flow, creating a sense of gentle and relaxed ambiance. The light gray sofa complements the overall color scheme, providing a cozy and inviting spot to enjoy a leisurely afternoon.
Stepping into the master bathroom, the white freestanding bathtub shines brightly amidst the stone-inspired surroundings, exuding purity and brightness. On the opposite side, a dark wood lattice design complements the space, accompanied by two countertop basins, creating a scene for the daily grooming rituals of the couple.
“With two sinks, both spouses can use them simultaneously in the morning without any contention for the washbasin,” the designer remarks with a smile.
This living area reflects a distinctive lifestyle and impeccable taste. The combination of white veined marble, titanium metal accents, and brown wood grain creates a visually striking and luxurious atmosphere.
The addition of the Hermès orange leisure armchair, footstool, and round glass coffee table adds a sense of sophistication and elevates the overall ambiance. It is a space that embodies exceptional living and showcases an exquisite sense of style.
The incorporation of a dark black stone floor adds a touch of sophistication and elegance to the space, while the choice of black marble and gray countertops further enhances the luxurious atmosphere.
The subtle golden lighting serves as a captivating element, creating a mesmerizing ambiance. It elevates the overall aesthetic and creates a sense of indulgence and relaxation. This multipurpose space allows you to enjoy various activities, including fitness, hydrotherapy, and sauna, in a serene and luxurious environment.
