Ambiente 2026: 8 Key Highlights Designers Shouldn’t Miss This February

by creativehomex

Design is embedded in everyday life. It appears in the objects we use, the tableware we touch, the furniture that shapes our homes — and ultimately in the commercial and hospitality spaces we move through.

Among the world’s major trade fairs, Ambiente stands out as one of the few platforms able to translate global lifestyle trends into tangible spatial applications. In February 2026, the Frankfurt exhibition grounds will once again host three leading consumer goods fairs organised by Messe Frankfurt. Ambiente and Christmasworld will take place from 6–10 February 2026, while Creativeworld runs from 6–9 February 2026.

Below are 8 key highlights that offer designers a clear entry point into the most relevant conversations shaping Ambiente 2026.

01 | Interior Looks — Curated Furniture and Interior Design at Exhibition Scale

Located in Hall 3.1, Interior Looks presents a tightly curated selection of furniture, lighting and interior brands, offering a distilled overview of contemporary European interior design sensibilities. Rather than focusing on individual products, the area reveals how materiality, colour and proportion come together as coherent spatial languages.

Returning brands include Italian lifestyle design brand Alessi, German home design brand Blomus, alongside Danish brands Broste, Design Letters, Eva Solo and Stelton. In tableware and glass, German porcelain specialist Dibbern and Swedish glassmaker Orrefors Kosta Boda anchor the offering.

The scope extends into soft furnishings and spatial accessories, including Belgian bathroom and textile brand Aquanova, German textile label PAD Home Design Concept, Swedish rug brand Pappelina and Dutch artificial florals specialist Silk-Ka. Furniture and contract-ready solutions are represented by brands such as Vario Büromöbel and Italian lighting brand Zafferano.

New participants including Andersen Furniture, Design House Stockholm, Ethnicraft, Gardeco, Guaxs, Jan Kurtz, Luiz, Muubs, Studio Höllental and Zieta Studio further expand the range, positioning Hall 3.1 as a practical reference point for diverse project needs.

Curator Bernd Schellenberg notes that colour and emotion are central to the 2026 edition. Drawing on Ambiente Trends 26+Brave, Light and Solid — the area demonstrates how colour and material trends can be translated across products, interiors and spatial typologies.

02 | Interior Design & Architecture Hub — Experiencing Space Through Light and Material

A major new feature for 2026, the Interior Design & Architecture Hub is curated by Katty Schiebeck. The installation explores hospitality design as an experiential discipline, using natural materials, emotional lighting and carefully paced spatial sequences.

Rather than presenting static displays, the hub invites visitors to move through space and observe how light shifts, materials respond to touch, and layouts influence movement, pause and emotional response — making spatial experience itself the core exhibit.

03 | Material Exhibition — Sustainable Materials Ready for Real Projects

The material exhibition “At the Table with Nature”, developed in collaboration with Healthy Materials Lab Europe, focuses on healthy and sustainable building materials with proven applicability. From sourcing and texture to real-world usage scenarios, the exhibition helps designers assess which materials are suitable for implementation — balancing sustainability, durability, maintenance and user wellbeing.

04 | HoReCa — Practical Insights for Hospitality and Commercial Design

Hall 11 remains the centre for HoReCa, bringing together brands across restaurant, hotel and tabletop sectors. In 2026, Westwing partners with the Hospitality Academy, adding a layer of strategic insight focused on translating trends into workable spatial and business solutions.

The content naturally connects with Hall 3.1’s focus on hospitality interiors and contract design, allowing designers to move between front-of-house experience and back-of-house considerations with clarity.

05 | Talents 25th Anniversary — How Design Moves from Concept to Market

Marking 25 years of the Ambiente Talents programme, this anniversary exhibition in Hall 3.1 traces how emerging design ideas evolve into market-ready products. Works by multiple generations of Talents alumni sit side by side, revealing paths from experimentation and prototyping to serial production and commercial integration.

06 | Certified Lecture & Training Programme — International-Level Design Education

The Certified Lecture & Training Programme offers high-value professional content across workplace design, hospitality and future spatial strategies. Friday’s Trend Forum for Modern Spatial Environments is curated by Office Roxx; Saturday and Sunday’s Architect Days, led by World Architects, bring together international voices on user experience, low-tech solutions and AI; Monday sees the European Council of Interior Architects (ECIA) join for the first time, introducing global interior design perspectives.

07 | Christmasworld — Turning Seasonal Design into Spatial Experience

Christmasworld 2026 expands its scope with additional party and festive product categories in Hall 4.0. The returning Take Off programme continues to focus on large-scale decorative projects, while the multisensory exhibition Decoration Unlimited: Tropical Bounty explores how colour, material and staging can create high-impact seasonal environments.

08 | Creativeworld — Where Creativity Meets Design Application

Creativeworld 2026 brings together leading brands in art materials, DIY and stationery, emphasising hands-on creativity. New features such as the Graffiti Wall introduce urban art into the exhibition context, encouraging experimentation and direct engagement. Strong synergies with Ambiente’s Giving segment further connect creative production with design-led retail and lifestyle applications.
