At Milan Design Week 2025, Italian luxury furniture brand Cassina returned as the show’s most sought-after destination. Under the theme “Future Roots,” the century-old house presented a series of visionary works that marry artful aesthetics with functional innovation, charting the course for tomorrow’s interiors.
“We are not making furniture; we are crafting living sculptures that will last three centuries,” declared Cassina’s Artistic Director Patricia Urquiola. By blending Italian artisanal heritage with modular engineering and sustainable “black tech,” Cassina’s pavilion demonstrated how contemporary design can be both timeless and forward-looking.

Mon-Nid Bed
The star of the show, Mon-Nid, reimagines sleep as refuge. Its enveloping, circular upholstery cradles sleepers in a “cloud-like” embrace, while hidden storage compartments and 100% recyclable materials underscore a commitment to eco-responsibility. Mon-Nid’s continuous soft curves lend a cocooning effect—perfect for today’s wellness-focused consumers.
Volage EX-S Night Bed
For those seeking a fully integrated sleep habitat, Volage EX-S Night merges equestrian leatherwork with cutting-edge tech. Built-in LED reading lights, an elevated storage platform, and premium upholstery create an all-in-one “sleep ecosystem.” The craftsmanship pays homage to traditional saddle techniques while catering to modern needs.
Fiandra Sofa
Cassina revisits its 1975 masterpiece, Fiandra, through a 2025 lens. The new iteration incorporates modular configurations and eco-friendly fabrics, breathing fresh life into this storied design. Fiandra’s geometric silhouette—once a hallmark of postmodern flair—now resonates with today’s demand for adaptability and conscientious material choices.
“We See What We Want To See” Mirror
In collaboration with artist Pietro Terzini, Cassina elevates the humble mirror into a meditation on perception. The “We See What We Want To See” piece plays with reflection and refraction, prompting viewers to question reality and their own point of view. This boundary-pushing work blurs the line between functional furnishing and interactive artwork.
Treflo Glass Table
Pushing material limits, the Treflo table transforms glass into a kinetic expression. Fluid geometric lines and modular glass panels assemble into a “living sculpture,” inviting the eye to trace shifting forms from every angle. Each Treflo piece becomes a centerpiece that changes with light and perspective.
Ghost Wall–WW
Redefining wardrobe design, Ghost Wall–WW features ultra-thin 2.5 mm panels that vanish to reveal a fully outfitted storage space. This pull-open system elevates everyday organization into a visual marvel—combining seamless minimalism with maximum function. Ghost Wall turns clothing storage into a sculptural installation that feels almost otherworldly.
Amid rising eco-awareness and personalized living, Cassina’s lineup proved that luxury and sustainability need not be at odds. By leveraging recycled and recyclable materials, modular production techniques, and timeless craftsmanship, the brand not only met high-end consumer expectations but also defined the next chapter of residential and hospitality design. While many chase short-lived trends, Cassina is busy shaping tomorrow’s aesthetic standards—remaining a perennial favorite among architects, designers, and global tastemakers.
