Unauthorized IKEA Store Spotted in North Korea

by creativehomex

IKEA confirms it has no authorized sales points in the country and will take action if necessary. According to a recent report by German media outlet Bild, a mysterious store resembling IKEA has appeared inside the Ryugyong Shopping Center in Pyongyang, North Korea. The shopping complex features various retail outlets, including a furniture store and a travel shop selling suitcases.

An IKEA spokesperson confirmed to German media that the company has no official presence or authorized retailers in North Korea. Industry experts speculate that genuine IKEA products may have entered the country through unauthorized channels and are now being resold in the department store.

The shopping center also houses luxury brands such as Montblanc, Louis Vuitton, and Gucci, as well as flagship stores for Adidas, Chanel, and Dior. These brands also suspect that their products are being illegally resold without official authorization.
