China ranked as number one among the 108 represented countries, followed by the United States of America, Japan, Italy, Hong Kong, Great Britain, Taiwan, Germany, Turkey, and Australia. Malaysia did well too, as we were placed at the 39th spot! Check out the global rankings here.
What is WDR?
The WDR or World Design Rankings aims to provide additional data and insights to economists and journalists regarding the state-of-art in design industry. WDR ranks all the countries based on the number of designers that have been granted with international awards, namely the A’ Design Award.
The ultimate aim of the WDR is to contribute to the global design culture through advocating and highlighting good design. The rankings provide a snapshot of the worldwide design potential by highlighting creative strengths, design weaknesses, and available opportunities.

In Malaysia, Chaos Design Studio bags the first spot, followed by Leong Huang Zi from Topology Illustration (2nd) and Ken Thong from The Roof Studio (3rd). These designers have all won the prime awards at A’Design Awards and Competition. See more winners here.
