From October 26–29, 2025, idd cologne will debut with a groundbreaking “Urban-Only experience” concept, transforming Cologne itself into a dynamic stage for high-end residential, hospitality, and commercial interiors. Eschewing the confines of a single convention center, the new format activates landmark venues such as Design Post and Stoff-Pavillon Moeller, offering immersive installations, design talks, and curator-led tours across the urban fabric.
Organized by Koelnmesse in partnership with the German Furniture Association (VDM) and leading industry collaborators, idd cologne aims to bring premium design into the flow of everyday life. By weaving events through established design hubs and local showrooms, the fair creates a continuous dialogue between brands, retailers, architects, and end users mirroring how design shapes the lived environment.

Over 35 international labels will showcase 3,500 m² of curated installations at Design Post, juxtaposed with pop-ups and product launches in more than 25 Cologne design boutiques. This “citywide synergy” ensures that attendees can discover new collections, attend salon-style discussions, and experience design in situ whether on the showroom floor or along the Rhine promenade.

New product unveilings will be paired with neighborhood activations, retail displays, evening receptions, and hands-on workshops unlocking fresh partnership opportunities and embedding design discourse within the city’s commercial ecosystem.
