Celebrating Dynamic Synergy and Bridging Cultures Through Design
Introducing the First Collaboration Project: Moorgen Smart Accent Lamp Designer Series

Steve Leung Design Group (SLD) is pleased to announce the official opening of SLD · Andrea Bonini, its first Associate Office in Milan. This momentous milestone represents 2025’s first step forward in SLD’s journey of “Rejuvenation, Diversification and Globalization” as part of its latest development strategies.

The official opening celebrations were successfully held on April 8th and 9th during Salone del Mobile, welcoming over 200 distinguished guests from the global design community, including renowned designers, business partners, clients, and media representatives. This was followed by an exclusive VIP dinner at Casa Cipriani Milano, providing an ideal platform for engaging discussions and fostering the exchange of ideas and insights among the esteemed guests.

This promising partnership creates a bi-directional bridge between Eastern and Western design philosophies, extending SLD’s global reach into the European market while introducing Andrea Bonini’s distinctive Italian design sensibility to Asian audiences — creating a vibrant platform for cross-cultural design idea exchange and mutual growth.

Located at Via Montenapoleone 18, in the heart of Milan’s luxury and design district, the new SLD · Andrea Bonini Office underscores SLD’s enduring pursuit of design mastery and timeless sophistication. Nestled among the world’s most celebrated fashion houses and iconic brands, this strategic location offers a commanding presence in one of Europe’s most dynamic design capitals.

The office has already made its mark with the acclaimed debut of its first collaborative project, the Moorgen Smart Accent Lamp Designer Series. Looking ahead, this office will serve as a cornerstone for SLD’s expansion in luxury interior design — spanning across high-end residences, luxury hospitality, and luxury products — further solidifying its global footprint.

Moorgen Smart Accent Lamp Designer Series

The inaugural project, Moorgen Smart Accent Lamp Designer Series, received wide acclaim during the Open House event, showcasing initial success in synergy and great potential in the markets.

AUREA, inspired by the timeless beauty of ancient architecture and classic sculpture, embodies purity of form and minimalist lines. A gentle rotation of the leather handle sets the overlapping discs in motion, orchestrating a delicate interplay of light and shadow — an elegant and refined design perfect for luxury hotels and residences.

LÙMIA, inspired by the warm glow of the Tuscan sunset, combines artisanal leather and a crystal-clear base to create a floating effect, transforming any space into a sophisticated retreat. This harmonious duality elevates lighting to an art form, where refraction becomes a celebration of refined craftsmanship and visual poetry.

SALUTE, exclusively designed by Steve Leung, redefines functional design with a stylish twist. It seamlessly blends nature and design through three design variations. Its sleek black frame extends like sculptural branches, while layered “leaves” double as glowing coasters — which can be united together as an artistic table lamp or used individually for serving whisky, champagne, wine, or other beverages. When illuminated, the structure allows light to pass through like sunbeams and shadows in a forest — an innovative touch ideal for elevating evening gatherings.

Steve Leung, Founder of SLD, shared:

“I am truly excited and delighted to meet our partners, clients, designers, and media friends here in Milan for this momentous occasion. This significant strategic collaboration with Andrea Bonini is not just about expanding our business; it also represents a two-way channel for design exchange. Together, we aim to create a unique synergy by blending the elegance and refinement of Italian design with SLD’s international vision and distinctive Chinese elements.
Andrea Bonini’s recognition as one of the ‘Seven for the Future’ by AD is a testament to his talent and vision. This partnership has immense potential to add value and foster new synergies within the SLD group.”

Andrea Bonini also commented:

“I am delighted to celebrate the establishment of SLD · Andrea Bonini alongside Steve and all distinguished guests here in Milan. I have full confidence in the strong synergy between SLD and my team. The success of our inaugural collaboration — the Moorgen Smart Accent Lamp Designer Series stands as a testament to the exceptional results we can achieve by uniting our expertise and vision.
Milan, a city rich in design inspiration, provides the perfect backdrop for this collaboration, and I am thrilled to work closely with SLD’s talented designers in different regions. Together, through cross-cultural ideas and expertise, I look forward to creating more outstanding and high-standard projects in the future.”

The launch of SLD · Andrea Bonini marks a new chapter in SLD’s journey of global collaboration. With a shared vision of design excellence and a commitment to pushing creative boundaries, SLD looks forward to bringing more exceptional designs to life — continuing to redefine the boundaries of design value, functionality, and timeless beauty on the global stage.
