REKA Design Week 2025 (RDW) has wrapped up a vibrant two-week celebration that brought the Klang Valley’s creative communities together like never before. From independent markets and gallery tours to mural projects and city walks, the festival offered visitors countless ways to explore, experience, and engage with design.
Key highlights for the Satellite Events included Lulu Kouno’s whimsical mural at Jalan Sultan Yahya Petra — a piece that quickly became an Instagram favourite. Julian Ooi led a city walk through hidden creative hotspots, while Jazz Alley at Jalan Negara Kita in Taman Melawati set the tone for a lively, artistic atmosphere. Gallery tours hosted by TJ Fine Art and Snackfood offered an intimate look at local talent, and the OUTLET-curated artisan market drew strong crowds, with several vendors selling out. Workshops across the fortnight left participants inspired and energised, highlighting the festival’s community-driven spirit.

The Art & Design Showcase at Pavilion Damansara Heights
The excitement peaked with the four-day Art & Design Showcase at Pavilion Damansara Heights (6–9 November), where design, art, furniture, and interior architecture installations were presented in inventive, unconventional ways. Organised by MIID in collaboration with partners across the creative industries, the Showcase served as both a hub for enthusiasts and a platform for experimentation.

Opening day featured the reveal of the RWB KL x Jefr Studio Art Car and welcomed visitors to explore the artisan marketplace. Across four days, Design Talks covered topics from Japanese design philosophy and modern weaving craftsmanship to sustainable carpentry and creative retail innovation. One of the week’s most captivating highlights was the live batik painting by Sham Abu Bakar and Lulu Kouno, bringing artistry to life in front of the audience.

Dulux played a standout role, leading a Design Talk session on “Colours of 2026″ as well as playing a key role in the installations such as the PANO art cubes, curated with MOFI and OUTLET, showing how industry partners can elevate creative projects in meaningful ways.

The Showcase also hosted awards for the PANO Art Competition, recognised the first MIID SEED programme graduates, and offered networking opportunities, all culminating in a spectacular 40-piece orchestral performance arranged by Nazura Rahime and conducted by Vibes & Beats Academy during the closing ceremony.
