Tropical Oasis: A Dream House for Enjoying the Outdoors and Embracing the Greenery

by creativehomex

Nestled on a higher ground, between a peaceful residential road and a breathtaking golf course, lies a beautiful house that is designed to indulge in the joys of indoor-outdoor living. With its thoughtful architecture by HBOA (HB Ong Architect) and stunning interior design by Nu Infinity, this house is a perfect example of how modern design can blend seamlessly with the natural surroundings to create a serene and inviting retreat.

One of the main features of this house is its emphasis on semi-outdoor and outdoor spaces. The design seamlessly integrates the indoor and outdoor areas, blurring the boundaries between them and allowing the residents to immerse themselves in the tropical climate. The house is planned with two main wings, separated by a sparkling swimming pool that serves as a focal point and a refreshing oasis. This layout not only breaks the building mass but also maximizes the vistas facing the golf course, creating a sense of openness and connection with nature.

“The house is designed for the owners to experience tropical modern living with a series of indoor, semi-outdoor spaces and outdoor spaces of different functions,” the architect remarks. “A skylight covered garden courtyard is also introduced in the house to draw more daylight to the center of the house.”

The skylight-covered garden courtyard, a unique component of the house, brings natural light to the heart of the home. This serene oasis, filled with lush greenery, creates a sense of tranquility and connects the different parts of the house, adding to its tropical charm. In addition, the fenestration of the house has been thoughtfully designed to capture natural breeze, induce cross ventilation, and optimise the views of the greenery surroundings. Large windows and glass doors allow natural light to flood the interiors, creating a bright and inviting atmosphere. The pool also acts as an evaporation cooling system for the house, keeping it comfortable in the tropical heat.

The materials used in the house also help enhance its aesthetics and functionality. Hardwood timber strip flooring is used in the semi-outdoor spaces and private enclave on the upper floor, adding a touch of warmth and elegance to the design. The use of natural materials further blurs the boundaries between the indoors and outdoors, creating a harmonious relationship with the surrounding greenery.

For the interior design, Nu Infinity expertly complemented the architectural design perfectly with a series of engaging details. The use of natural colours, textures, and materials creates a seamless flow from the indoor to outdoor spaces, enhancing the tropical vibe of the house. The furniture and decor also create a comfortable and inviting ambience, while also adding a touch of modern sophistication.
