Resort Reflections: Ordinary Terrace Home in Kuching with an Extraordinary Makeover

by creativehomex

If you didn’t know any better, you might mistake this stunning residence for a villa nestled in the lush greenery of Bali. However, this stunning residence is, in fact, a conventional terrace home in Bandar Baru Samariang, Kuching, Sarawak which has been masterfully transformed by Red Beam Homes for resort-style living.

The core theme of this renovation is resort glamour, enhanced by subtle hints of Balinese décor throughout the space. The exterior of the home is an impressive showcase of material harmony, where textured stone surfaces contrast beautifully with the vibrant green surroundings.

Outside, visitors are greeted by smooth finishes on the entrance and stairway, which lend a polished, luxurious touch to the overall façade. Water features and a mini pool add a tranquil element, inviting relaxation and reflection. The designer has also incorporated hammocks and planters into the landscape, enhancing the serene atmosphere and encouraging a lifestyle that harmonises with nature.

Stepping inside, the design continues to impress with citrus green accents that perfectly complement the natural palette of materials. Rich teak wood and polished ceramic floors create a warm and inviting ambience. The living room features a light grey sofa that stands out against the jade green tiled flooring and a bright green wall adorned with a circular art piece, serving as a striking focal point.

Adjacent to the living area, the kitchen is both functional and aesthetically pleasing, featuring elegant wood cabinetry and a circular dining table. The unique stone wall finishing adds depth and character, reinforcing the home’s overall theme of sophisticated relaxation.

Ascending to the upper levels, the bedroom transforms into a resort-like haven, designed to maximise natural light and ventilation. Instead of a conventional headboard, the designer has creatively upcycled old doors, turning them into a decorative statement piece that exudes charm and character.

The master bedroom opens onto a beautifully landscaped area, seamlessly linking the indoor space to a semi-outdoor chill-out zone. This integration of nature and living space epitomises the essence of the home’s extraordinary makeover, creating a tranquil retreat that feels worlds away from the ordinary.
