At the 2,350 sq.ft., the Samira show unit in Seremban provided just the perfect canvas for Alex Lee and Nick Fong of Nu Infinity to present their imaginative interior ideas. For starters, the centre courtyard allowed the talented duo to experiment with a series of unique details that brought forth beauty in subtlety.
“This developer show unit was designed with a centre courtyard which gave us the opportunity to show off our design flair,” says Nick. “Transforming the 3-storey centre courtyard into the sole highlight of the home was our selling point and greatest challenge.”
Throughout the unit, the interior is beautifully graced by a neutral palette comprising shades of grey, whites and wood tones, creating a contemporary space that exudes a modern industrial look that is still warm and welcoming. What truly stands out in this unit is the hexagon-shaped feature at the exterior courtyard which connects to the ground floor study area and blends into the space as a book rack.

Alex elaborates, “You can see many things that are connected to the spaces in this show unit – like that room at the back is now a study which has a hexagon design. This was inspired by the periwinkle, a type of flower that is shaped like a hexagon. We used the hexagon concept as a study book rack, and then brought it forward to the courtyard. ”
Another highlight of the show unit’s interior design is the composition of raw building materials, such as exposed red bricks and raw cement rendering for the wall finishes along with exposed wiring in the living area.

This project features a composition of raw building materials, such as exposed red bricks and raw cement rendering as well as exposed wiring in the living area.
“For this project, we used different materials to bring out the concept. Inside, there are wires that run along the ceiling and walls, and instead of using a plaster ceiling or wall to cover it up, we decided to expose them because aesthetically it would look good as a feature,” Alex says. “That’s the overall style we wanted to aim for, and when we carried it out it was actually pretty interesting.”
