Sunpina Malaysia × iN Design Lab: KLEC Team Secured the Monthly Store Performance Excellence Award twice within three months

Good design is not only about aesthetics — it is about creating spaces people feel comfortable living in.

This is the approach taken by the KLEC at Sunpina Malaysia.

Over the past three months, Sunpina Malaysia’s showroom at iN Design Lab has delivered a strong set of results. During the 2025 Sunpina International Design and Sales Competition, the Malaysia-based KLEC team maintained consistently high performance among more than 100 international participants, earning recognition in multiple monthly rounds and securing the Monthly Store Performance Excellence Award twice.

Rather than relying on short-term tactics, the team attributes its performance to a set of principles that are applied consistently across projects.

Turning formaldehyde anxiety into everyday reassurance

For many homeowners, especially first-time renovators, concerns around indoor air quality often outweigh questions of style.

The KLEC team addressed this early on by adopting Sunpina’s Zero Formaldehyde medical-grade panels, which combine low-emission performance with antibacterial properties. This material-first approach is paired with AI-generated 4K visualisations, allowing clients to preview their finished spaces before construction begins.

By reducing uncertainty at the decision-making stage, the team has been able to build trust organically — reflected in strong client referrals and consistent designer rankings across consecutive months.

Reducing delays and human error through digital integration

Behind the scenes, KLEC has implemented a fully digitised workflow linking design output directly to Industry 4.0 manufacturing and delivery.

This end-to-end system minimises manual errors while improving timeline accuracy — a factor that has proven critical in maintaining service consistency under the pressure of competitive design and sales cycles.

The result is a more predictable delivery process, allowing designers to focus on project quality rather than coordination bottlenecks.

Empowering designers as project owners

Another defining feature of KLEC’s model is its decentralised management approach.

Designers are given a high degree of autonomy and treated as project owners rather than executors. With access to resources and decision-making authority, team members take responsibility not only for design outcomes but also for client experience.

This sense of ownership often translates into more attentive communication and proactive problem-solving — contributing to a positive feedback loop between team performance and customer satisfaction. Over the past three months, KLEC designers have consistently ranked in the upper tiers of monthly performance evaluations, with several placing in the top ten and top three.

For homeowners planning their first renovation, Sunpina Malaysia’s presence at iN Design Lab offers access to a team that combines technical systems with lived-in design thinking — helping turn abstract ideas of home into tangible, well-considered spaces.
