It was a Milan trip that was engaging and inspiring in every way. In a collaboration between DDN and Creative Home, Iko In brought six designers from reputable design firms in Malaysia to visit seven Italian brands and manufacturers in Milan.
During the trip, Iko In along with Dr Tan from Archicentre, Mr Lai from Blu Water, Mr Ooi from Ooi Design & Associates, Joe Chan from Designtone, Alex Lee from Nu Infinity as well as Hao Wang from S:Lab10 had the experience of an insightful tour of some of the leading home design brands in Italy.
Designer Tour in Milan: The Highlights
Franchi Umberto Marmi
On the first day, the group visited the marble quarries in Carrara and the factory of Franchi Umberto Marmi, a renowned company in Tuscany with numerous marble quarries. Just recently, they launched a new luxury design brand.
Antonio Lupi
From the quarries, the group travelled to the factory of Antonio Lupi, one of the most important design bathroom and spa furniture in Italy.
Ceramica Globo & Cea Design
On the second day, the group made a trip to Ceramica Globo’s showroom in Milan city centre followed by the showroom of Cea Design, an Italian company specializing in bathroom fixtures.
RES & Rugiano
The next day, RES, one of the most exclusive doors companies in Italy gave the group an exciting overview of their brand at their factory. In the afternoon, the group went over to exclusive Italian luxury furniture company, Rugiano to check out their latest collections.
Scic Kitchens
The highlight for the last day was a trip to the factory of Scic Kitchens, one of Italy’s premier design kitchen companies was the highlight of the last day.
