Poolside Glam: Steve Leung Design Group Introduces the Rooftop Bar Swim Club at Kimpton Tsim Sha Tsui Hong Kong

The highly anticipated Kimpton Tsim Sha Tsui Hong Kong has opened, marking the brand’s first Hong Kong property and the largest Kimpton globally. Its lifestyle-focused design celebrates individuality and immersive experiences. The 50th-floor skyline pool bar, Swim Club, designed by Steve Leung Hospitality (SLH), draws inspiration from Southern California pool clubs and Hollywood Hills backyard parties, offering 270-degree Victoria Harbour views and a playful social energy.

Led by Heidi Chan, SLH’s Design Director, Swim Club reimagines hotel design with a versatile space that hosts events day or night. The interior employs symmetrical motifs, grids, stripes, and a cohesive palette to evoke a lively, relaxed atmosphere. Guests are welcomed by blue mosaic walls, terracotta flooring, and rippled glass ceilings that mimic a pool, while bespoke furnishings, rattan accents, and bubble-like lighting reinforce the playful, Californian-inspired aesthetic.

Central to the design is a circular bar beneath a vintage parasol-style structure, with bartenders serving cocktails as if from the pool. The wave-like ceiling, floating-buoy pendants, and adaptable lighting create a dynamic social setting. Outdoors, cabanas, communal seating, and a guest-exclusive pool seamlessly connect with the interior, maintaining the American pool club theme against Victoria Harbour’s backdrop.

Swim Club also houses High Dive, a hidden VIP bar behind a vending machine, offering an intimate retreat with a deep green palette, personalised décor, and a diving-themed motif.

Heidi shared, “We are dedicated to creating an immersive, playful, and leisurely experience. Inspired by the Southern California’s pool clubs and backyard parties in the Hollywood Hills theme, we aim to transport guests from Hong Kong’s urban hustle to the cozy and relaxing vibes of Southern California. The space is designed with inherent versatility, allowing it to be seamlessly transformed to host a wide range of events. We hope guests will have a distinct and surprising experience here — both indoors and outdoors, from daytime to evening — while surrounded by the beautiful views of Victoria Harbour from the 50th floor.”
