Scandustrial Chic: This Home Features a Combination of Scandinavian Flair and Industrial Style

Homlux Interior Furnishing has certainly brought about a trendy new interpretation of modern homes with its “Scandustrial” concept that was executed successfully in this 3-storey semi-D house in Sierra 6, Puchong.

“The concept, ‘Scanindustrial’ is conceived through combining elements of the timeless Scandinavian style and trendy industrial features,” says Nor Shakinah Bt Shahrom, the lead designer of this residential project. “For this interior, there is more focus on rough and raw materials such as the brick walls. We have also used a cement-like effect for the feature walls.” This is clearly seen in the living room, which has been cohesively crafted to portray the design concept. One side of the room there are brick walls, while the rest are left white and pristine. This creates a focal point, leading the eyes towards the brown couch and its accompanying Scandinavian-inspired furniture pieces.

Metal features have also been included to infuse the space with an industrial appeal. “There are metal elements throughout the home to put in an industrial feel, but we made sure they were applied in proportion with other materials,” Nor Shakinah says.

Towards the adjacent dining area, a breakfast counter enhances the entire setting. Here, cement surfaces complemented by nuances of wood beautifully instil a contemporary ambience that is bright and welcoming at the same time.

This project is one of My Favourite Interior Designers 2016 (MFID)‘s Top 10 winners. Watch the interview in the video below:
