A blend of neutral colours mixed with a range of wood textures creates dramatic contrasts that are pleasing to the eye. This home demonstrates how to use a limited palette to bring wood tones into harmonious arrangement.
The expanse of the white floor-tiles creates a sense of space that surrounds the functional areas of this home. The furnishings have been thoughtfully selected and arranged by the interior designer, Nu Infinity Sdn. Bhd., in an effort to retain the wide spaces. Even with a large party, visitors to the home would be able to move freely between the wood-topped kitchen island counter, the dining table, and the comfortable living area.
The kitchen’s lights are set into geometric sculptures made of wood and hung low, bringing visual attention to the kitchen’s island counter and enticing visitors to assemble around it. The dining and living areas are demarcated from the kitchen’s footprint with a full-height ceiling that is lit in the recesses to augment the sense of height.
Most of the vertical surfaces in the kitchen are painted or paneled in black, with the shorter sides of the island counter being the rare exception. The white island counter-top extends down the sides to the floor, effectively making the kitchen seem larger by hiding the black paneled cabinets from the rest of the room. The kitchen appliances have been set into recesses of the wall to further enlarge the space.
The immaculate wet kitchen, done almost entirely in white, is discretely hidden behind a sliding door composed of pale wood and mirrored panels. The sliding door is more than a practical feature that serves to keep signs of culinary activity from spilling out into the living area. Besides being a piece of geometric art, this door also reflects sunlight coming in through the sheer white curtains and raises the level of natural light in the living area.
The dining table has an irregularly-shaped horizontal surface, with subtle undulations along the long edges of the flat surface that create an organic shape similar to that of a tree trunk. The dining area is sunlit through the fullheight windows during the day and by tube lighting set into a slim light box during the night.
Glossy black panels run from floor to ceiling around the living area in narrow strips to reinforce the impression of height. The audio-visual entertainment wall of the living area is framed on both sides by thicker, grey curtains. In addition to preserving the sense of height, these curtains also serve the practical function of reducing the amount of sunlight that would normally interfere with viewing of the television display.
Eclectic Appeal: The various wood tones used in this home are contrasted in appealing taste by the bold use of black, white, grey, and tan colours. This arrangement illustrates that wood furniture need not necessarily be matched according to their colours, if minimal contrast is used to visually separate them.

Bijak dalam susun atur ruang ini membuatkan ruang ini tampil lebih luas yang ditambah pula dengan kemasan kabinet siap pasang dengan warna pilihan putih. Menjelah ke ruang atas kediaman, sentuhan moden masih dikekalkan.
Tidak banyak perubahan dalam kesenian pilihan pemilik rumah. Terdapat ruang kamar yang turut menerima sentuhan moden elegan.
Hitam menjadi pilihan utama dalam penataan kamar tersebut, kemasan lembut penuh gaya mewah ini cukup sempurna. Fabrik hitam mewah menyuntik rasa selesa tatkala melabuh diri setelah penat seharian.
