Forest Villa is located on the outskirts of Hefei, near Dashu Mountain National Forest Park. Its natural topography inspired architects Jenchieh Hung and Kulthida Songkittipakdee of HAS Design and Research to create a space that embodies both eternity and spirituality through three key elements: shell, hole, and void, offering an extraordinary living experience.
The façade features a sequence of shells that frame the continuous view, strengthening the connection between the interior and exterior, similar to traditional Chinese gardens. These shells create rich light and shadow effects while blocking excessive western sunlight. In the foyer, overlapping holes evoke a forest-like atmosphere, offering a free-flowing visual experience. The living and dining spaces are defined by rhythmic walls that mediate the transition and heighten emotional engagement.
