A kid’s bedroom can be simple and colourful, or soft and inviting. Whichever style or ambience you choose, make sure these few things – colour palette, headboards, furniture and soft furnishing – are well planned. Here are some inspirational images to get you started in the right direction.

DREAMY HEADBOARDS
The headboard is probably the most outstanding decor element for children’s bedrooms. Personalize it with your little one’s favourite cartoon characters or do it up in bright colours to create an eye-catching effect. Not all headboards need to be an actual board behind the bed – you can use the entire wall behind the bed to achieve the same thing, turning it into a vibrant feature wall.

PALETTE PLAY
Ensure colour palettes are harmonious and consistent in a child’s room. Kids love bright colours as they stimulate their creativity and create a sense of playfulness in their rooms. Pink in different shades and tones are usually a popular choice for girls, albeit traditional; while bright blues offer a calmer but vibrant effect. Trending now are oranges combined with yellows and reds (or pinks) against a white background to infuse a minimalist but cheerful atmosphere in children’s bedrooms.
