A quaint little home decor shop located within Viva Home shopping centre, All Around recently opened its doors to the public. As a little shop lot located at level 2 of the mall, All Around offers unique, alluring and one-of-a-kind decorating products that are specially sourced from around the world. Ensuring that such exclusive products could be showcased at its best, designers, Jeff Lee, Chris Chan and Mohammad Fikri of Turn Design Interior created a trendy and minimal space that has a dramatic impact from the outside.
With a beautiful and enticing range of homewares and decorating products, the bold shop front lures passers-by as they walk through the shopping mall. With a dark and rich interior, spotlights light up each corner and display area perfectly, providing just the right amount of light needed in the shop, whilst retaining it deep and mysterious ambiance.
At the main entrance, black window frames, frame the window display, where the transparency of the glass allows passer-by’s to look straight through to the back wall, glancing at all the various products presented in the shop. To the right of the entrance, the shops’ signboard is placed in a display cabinet, which is lit up with indigo lights giving it an alluring glow. Made from a block of wood, the signboard has the shops’ name printed on with its logo – simple and striking.
Entering the shop, the corner shop unit is longer than it is wider, so with the help of tinted mirrors at one end of the shop, the illusion of a larger space is created. Adding dimensions and playing with the depth of the space, a metal-framed, house shape structure displays an array of colourful products on offer. This house structure brings that industrial element into the shadowy store, being made from a black metal material, whilst also adding a fun and playful charm. Accessing the unique products easily, the hollowness of the structure means that customers can browse at the displays from all sides, easily.
Against the back wall is a dark lavender display shelf. Elegantly injecting some colour into the space, this shelf covers the entire back wall, where individual shelves are arranged in various oblong sizes, with some of them containing a beech wood inner box – this adds to the dimensions in the shop and contrasts with the purple shade. This simple yet dramatic structure means that a wonderful selection of global ornaments can be showcased and highlighted under the spotlights.
The large windows that enclose the shop give the shop light transparent layers, whilst attracting people in from the outside to explore this interesting shop. With an assortment of products – from beautiful and delicate statues to peculiar ornaments, the simple interior allows the contemporary mix to stand out.
