Bright food inspired colours, a pragmatic material rethink and a few clever engineering tweaks make this piece a clear example of how playful inspiration can become durable, everyday design.
The starting point was literal and charming. The curved, puckered geometry of the fortune cookie and the small moment of surprise inside it suggested a balanced, symmetrical seat. JUMBO Studio preserved that double hemisphere profile to create a chair that reads as both an object and a smile. The result is a distinctive form that balances whimsy with visual clarity and physical comfort.
Material evolution and functional improvements
Early proposals used an aluminium shell, but HELLER’s development team opted for high performance engineered plastic to achieve multiple benefits. The final material reduces weight, lowers production complexity and improves outdoor resilience. Practical features include discreet drainage holes and UV stable finishes so the chair resists fading and sheds water. Those decisions turned a concept into a weather ready product suitable for both public and private terraces.

Colour is central to the collection’s appeal. The six finishes reference food and comfort with tomato red, oat beige, olive green, cherry plum, licorice black and the signature fortune yellow.
