Open Nature

Nature serves as a wonderful inspiration for this unique home that celebrates light, space and materials in sophisticated ways.

The living hall

Expressing a strong minimalist concept, this house is decidedly contemporary with a touch of tropical Asian. A cool atmosphere is prevalent throughout the interior, achieved through the open-plan layout that permits light, air and views into the home. While wide open spaces are a common theme in this home, the interior still offers a cosy environment, thanks to the strategic application of cool and warm materials that include raw concrete surfaces, brick walls and wood panels, as well as a unique art piece featuring bold colours. The choice of lighting is outstanding as well –the gigantic moon-like pendant lamp in the main living hall is definitely hard to miss.

A corner of the dining hall meant for informal meals with a view of the courtyard

Towards the dining hall, we come to a corner that is meant for informal meals. This space opens out to a minimalist garden that features a single tree and modern garden features. Timber ceiling, concrete finishes on the walls and sliding doors envelope this space, leading us to the marble staircase. Here, the stairway is encased by full glazing, offering even more views of the outdoors. Further into the house, a Japanese-inspired room complete with Shoji screens offers a different touch to this impressive home.
