A neutral palette is accented with wood and splashes of greenery to create a provincial sanctuary.
An emblematic tribute to the tropics is presented at the foyer, depicting a pair of stylised leaves from a Monstera deliciosa – a plant native to Central America, as a signal for the distinctly equatorial décor presented further in the interior. Assembled by Alpex Design, the tropical theme of this home is bolstered by the addition of potted plants and wood accents against a background of white and subtle earth tones.
An appreciably aged Persian carpet runner at the entrance adds a vintage Asiatic element to the modern lines and perpendicular angles, bringing the decorative altar into decidedly Asian tropical territory. The theme of the Asian jungle is extended across the white tile floors of the open layout, rendering the adjacent seating lounges and dining space in neutral-coloured upholstery and contemporary designs of wooden frames over vintage Persian carpets.
Echoing the floral motifs of the prized carpets, representations of flowers in pots extend from patterns in fabric upholstery and cushions in the foreground to the far wall of the formal dining area, where painted depictions of flowers in vases hang over a wide console table. Decorated in much the same way as the adjacent seating lounges, the dining space presents furnishings of wood and neutral-coloured upholstery to match the sofa – while the white walls exude a blushing peach glow under the warm light of a modern chandelier and an intriguing table lamp seemingly held up by pieces of driftwood. A corner of the formal dining area opens out to a secluded space hosting a private seating lounge alongside additional seating arrangements in the kitchens.

Warm Formality: The formal dining space presents a bold configuration of dark wood and white, while the more secluded dining spaces are painted in a casual light with pale shades.
The shades of wood lighten in this conjoined space to produce a pale décor that neatly transitions to the white cabinetry and grey countertops in the L-shaped kitchen. The kitchen where the serious cooking happens is sequestered behind a sliding wooden door – the passage covertly masquerades as another wall while disguised with the same trim expressed in the cabinets of the dry kitchen. The palette is inverted in the wet kitchen for visual contrast, resulting in the organic grains of wood expressed in the cabinetry, a backsplash rendered in white, and a floor decked with grey tiles.

Country Kitchen: A rural cooking space is rendered with floors depicting pale wood planks and cabinet doors bearing classically-inspired trim.
The tropical décor gives way to more modern elements on the upper level – wood is relegated to the background of the lounge and to deck the floors of the bedrooms. The bedrooms enable personalities to be more overtly expressed, with the liberal application of whimsical tones and contemporary decorative features acting as headboards.

Personalising Shades: While the common areas are replete with wood, the private areas present wood in the background and vividly coloured accents in the foreground.
