De Dietrich @ Bangsar Shopping Centre
Avant-garde yet traditional, Le Maison De Dietrich has a rich and storied history spanning over three centuries in the realm of kitchen appliances, beginning in 1684 as a metal forge among the German diaspora of Strasbourg, France. The brand found prominence when it was graced by the polarising French monarch Louis XV, and subsequently led by one of history’s first and most prominent female designers – Amélie de Dietrich. The De Dietrich brand became associated with the “Art de vivre” (the French ‘art of living’) after they introduced the world’s first induction cooker hobs, entering the parlance of Le Cordon Bleu and Michelin-starred chefs when the renowned Parisian chef Pierre Gagnaire began endorsing their offerings. If their telescopic and automatic varieties of fume hoods do not impress, their programmable cooker hobs and cast iron fixtures surely will.

KitchenAid Experience Store @ Bangsar Village
While the name KitchenAid is more synonymous with electric mixers, their showroom in Bangsar Village was apparently built with the aim of proving that the KitchenAid brand should also be known for their own extensive range of kitchen appliances both small and large. In addition to their iconic mixers and the accessories, KitchenAid offers appliances of their own designs: including hobs, hoods, ovens, dishwashers, refrigerators; as well as the kind of professional equipment expected of fine dining restaurants: large-scale ice makers and warming drawers.

TBM @ Bangsar Village
A family-owned and second-generation managed establishment, the Tan Boon Ming appliance store as long been a fixture of Bangsar – even before the district was revamped with the construction of the Bangsar Village shopping centre. Founded in 1945, Tan Boon Ming began as a bicycle store before diversifying into the realm of appliances by 1953. Since officially incorporating in 2000, the neighbourhood store identifies itself as a one-stop electrical chain offering products ranging from kitchen appliances to audio and video equipment – while offering repair, maintenance, and spare parts supply services as an expression of the company’s emphasis on customer service.
