MFIDA 2025 Winner | Residential | The Art of Eastern Tranquility by MULI DESIGN

Company: MULI DESIGN
Project: The Art of Eastern Tranquility
Location: Kaohsiung, Taiwan
Design Team: Shen Tzu Yu (Design Director)

Inspired by the owner’s affinity for Chinese-style homes and lush greenery, the design of this charming home embraces the timeless charm of traditional garden landscapes. Chinese window lattices, minimalist grid partitions, and framed views replace ornate carvings, blending a Japanese Zen essence into serene spaces. Lightweight metal and glass shelving complement sleek modern furniture, while mold-resistant, antibacterial laminate panels in the living room and master bedroom ensure a hygienic retreat, ideal for the homeowner, a medical professional.

The entryway features soft lighting and a semi-translucent water curtain wall. A timber grid partition leads to an airy sanctuary where a stone-patterned TV wall, white pebbles, and a Japanese pine bonsai evoke poetic seclusion. Structural beams become elegant display walls for art and calligraphy.
