Design Republic Unveils Festival of Design 2023: A Celebration of Inclusive and Innovative Design

by creativehomex

Design Republic proudly announces the return of the Festival of Design, an influential interdisciplinary design platform that first debuted in 2016 in Shanghai. Co-founded by renowned visionaries Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu, the Festival of Design has since evolved into a global celebration of design, promoting inclusivity, innovation, and collaboration.

Starting from November 10th to December 10th in Shanghai, China, the Festival of Design 2023 promises an unparalleled experience, bringing together design enthusiasts, professionals, and thought leaders from various disciplines. The event will feature a dynamic program comprising lectures, talks, exhibitions, and workshops, all aimed at fostering a sense of community and exchange.

At the heart of the Festival of Design is a commitment to collaborative projects and communal engagement. The event places a special focus on initiatives that embody the spirit of community, with this year’s theme, 再 “RE-,” serving as a catalyst for reevaluation, redefinition, and rediscovery in the post-pandemic world. The festival remains steadfast in its dedication to providing accessible and inclusive experiences for diverse audiences, making it a cornerstone of its mission.

The Festival of Design 2023 invites attendees to explore the theme of “RE-” as an imperative for reassessing values, redefining priorities, and rediscovering purpose through design. With a strong emphasis on inspiring young audiences and fostering dialogues between designers and architects, the festival continues to offer predominantly free experiences to the public.

This year’s lineup of keynote speakers is nothing short of extraordinary, featuring luminaries such as Anders Byriel (CEO of Kvadrat), Shay Alkalay (Co-Founder of Raw-Edges), Mark Lee (Co-Founder of Johnston Marklee), and many more. The Festival of Design promises to be a melting pot of ideas and inspiration, where creativity and innovation converge.

Highlighting the commitment to sustainability, the festival will host the ECO VISION forum, a series of events dedicated to exploring and advancing sustainable design practices. Additionally, attendees can look forward to an exclusive screening of ALFABETO MANGIAROTTI, a compelling addition to the festival’s diverse offerings.

A month-long “RE-” themed exhibition, showcasing remarkable work by BAUM, CLASSICON, KEF, KVADRAT, and others, will be held at Neri&Hu’s Design Republic flagship store through December 10th, offering a visual feast for design enthusiasts.
