At Art of Tree, each fallen tree holds the potential of becoming a masterpiece. A purveyor of beautiful design infused with eco-responsibility, this award-winning solid wood manufacturer taps into the founders’ unique passion for turning trees into furniture.
“We call ourselves Art of Tree because art takes precedence over the tree, and our furniture stands proud as works of art,” Jeffrey Yan, Art of Tree’s Creative Director, remarks.
Art of Tree is the first Malaysian furniture maker to produce modern furniture repurposed from salvaged local trees. This concept – the first-of-its-kind locally and regionally – is both their core offering and proudest innovation in the local furniture industry.
According to Art of Tree, each salvaged wood slab comes from Malaysian urban areas. These trees were rejected in the court of consumerism: either with cavities, fallen on their own, or cleared for development.
“We see the beauty in each flaw, using them as our guiding force to restore the distinct character of every slab,” says Joey Woo, the Managing Director of Art of Tree, adding that they believe a greater purpose lies in the intricate marks of each fallen tree.
Whether as a sturdy office nucleus, trusty living fixture, or dining and wining companion, Art of Tree proves that furniture can be functional, tasteful, and kind to Mother Earth at the same time. Above all, they take pride in creating conversation pieces tailored to stylistic preferences.
To date, the brand has served more than 5,000 customers locally and globally, catering to a wide range of applications from residential homes and commercial spaces to contract and corporate projects. One of their product highlights is the Hologram Collection featuring wood slab tables enhanced with iridescent detailing. The Joey Woo collection is also one of their most unique ranges, which comprises resin art, quartz facial rollers, and healing paraphernalia made from crystals.
Having manufactured over 10,000 pieces of salvaged slabs, Art of Tree is the first solid wood furniture brand to go for product digitization. Their online store has garnered more than 100,000 page views, while their social media platforms have a huge following. Based in Selangor, Art of Tree operates from their 33,000 sqft factory and showroom.
